No More Business-as-Usual: Where to Now for International Trade?

Chaired by AUT Adjunct Professor Rod Oram, this is the first of a series of conversations about the future of Aotearoa New Zealand in a global economy. This event will coincide with the launch of a discussion paper by the same name, which explores the future of trade in light of setbacks for TTIP and the TPP, the re-emergence of nationalist populism, and the signing of the Paris Agreement. What might future trade look like to win back the trust of voters throughout the Western world? And how can trade agreements stimulate greater cooperation while also delivering social and environmental benefits?
