The Policy Fix - Podcasts

Elizabeth Eppel on water governance

Everyone has an interest in our fresh water. Those interests often conflict with each other, making water governance a difficult area. Elizabeth Eppel talks with Keri Mills about the challenges of water governance and one of Aotearoa’s innovative attempts at collaborative decision-making in this area: the Land and Water Forum.

Dr Elizabeth Eppel is a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute for Governance and Policy Studies. Her work looks at the public sector as a complex adaptive system, and investigates how complexity theory can help us design and implement better policy. You can read her 2013 research paper on the Land and Water Forum here.
